In 2004 Director Jacki Pleggenkuhle ended her ninth year as teacher and director at North High in Des Moines and began her own children's theatre program. The goal was to give area kids experience in theatre, building confidence and fostering creativity. 

Jacki Pleggenkuhle is a licensed teacher of theatre, speech, and English and is currently teaching speech & theatre arts at Waukee High School. 

Since Attic Door Theatre Company was formed, more than 180 kids from Waukee and the greater Des Moines Metro area have taken a turn on stage, experienced the hard work, and felt the thrill of applause.
